"Hear, is a song about two people--each with their own slate of mental instabilities--who find their way back to each other in a drug-induced fugue. As he attempts to cope with his separation from a woman--who, herself, is an addict fighting mental illness--he finds himself indulging the vices that he wants to save her from. The song is part of a concept album told from this character's perspective, kind of following the evolution of his relationship with this woman and her struggle--supporting her through it, hating her for it, and ultimately losing her to it--all the while failing to acknowledge or understand his own illness. This song explores what it is like to love an addict, while also kind of parodying itself with its own distorted, almost nightmarish portrayal of substance abuse."

Lyrics:
Convalesce
You fractured mess
Counteract
All the chemicals you can
You've been away
Time goes by, and I
Cope, count, Kill the sound
Homes like citadels
Don’t fall asleep
(You are an artifact)
Count what you keep
(here, hear don’t look back)
We are the fortunate
Against your tattered lips
