"Painted is the result of a week I try my hardest to forget. I never wanted to admit to myself that I’ve always struggled with depression. It’s not that I not that I thought it was weak to be depressed as much as I should be stronger so others can rely on me. What I learned is that every tower of stone is bound to crumble eventually. I never thought I’d be literally bed-ridden. I had never understood how somebody could just be “sad” and ignore everybody, but that’s the furthest thing from the reality of what depression is. It ate at me. Nobody can understand how that feels until you go through it yourself. I was lucky to come out of it, but there are those who don’t have such luck. What we have to show everybody is that people really do care, and I truly believe everybody experiences some form of depression at some point in their lives. We’ll never eradicate depression; but hopefully with a lot of love and music we can let others know that even though they feel alone, we’re all in the fight together."
